New Rules

I spent yesterday writing and not outlining.  I have the first 3 or so chapters mapped out, and I’m going to take it from there.  I can always outline as I go.  Something about outlining multiple viewpoint third person than one viewpoint first.  I think and outline chronologically, so writing first is just so much easier for me.

I wrote 8 pages yesterday.  It pretty much took me all day–on and off.  I started where I wanted to this time, and the words flowed much simpler, and more importantly I heard my heroine.  She is speaking loud and clear now.  Not so much with the other beginning.

I finished my killer’s motivation today–thanks to the help of my BFF, Maria Shanti.

With it being May tomorrow, and since I want to stick to my original plan of one book per quarter (whether it’s writing or editing), I recalculated and now have to write 8 pages per day, 6 days a week for the next 8 weeks–starting Monday.  I say, “Oh, it’s only 3 pages more than my original goal”, but those 3 little pages could end up making each day that much harder.

I’m optimistic though.  At least it’s not 15 pages a day. :P

SURRENDERING COMPLETELY ALWAYS LEADS TO…

Completely broke, Regan Roslund is stuck selling bondage gear to a kinky clientele in order to pay her bills. She has no interest in her salacious merchandise until she feels a leather choker tight against her neck–and gets a glimpse of the muscular, model-gorgeous man who holds her captive. Suddenly, temptation ignites…

THE MOST INTENSE PLEASURE…

Newly crowned king of the undead, Shadow Sorenson knows he can protect himself by taking a wife. He hopes Regan, with her new-found curiosity, will be unable to resist obeying even his most deviant demand. But Shadow would prefer she surrender willingly. For thirty nights, he’ll show Regan what it’s like to lose control as he explores every inch of her naked flesh, leaving her hungry for release–and moaning in anticipation of an ecstasy she never knew existed…

Warning! This is a REALLY HOT book (Sexually Explicit)

“A thoroughly entertaining tale by a talented new voice.” Kate Douglas

Wicked-Hot Erotic Fiction

Beginnings

I started plotting a bit last night, then this morning, I didn’t feel like going further in the process.  I have the first 7 scenes mapped out and figured I’d just start writing.  I open and head my Word document and begin typing.  The problem is two-found.

1. Have I started in the right place?

I know to begin where the action is, but what about showing some of who the protagonist is prior to the call to action?  I can add tidbits of the ordinary world to the new world, but it’s not the same–won’t have the same intensity.

2. Why is it coming out so boring?  Where’s the humor?

Maybe I just haven’t thought it through enough, but I’m not finding the funny.  And this story is nothing without the laughs.

Maybe I need to take a break and get back to it in a day or so.

Brainstorming Complete

Well, I really have another couple of hours to finalize my characters info (secondary characters traits, etc.) and complete how my killer kills the first dude.  After that, I will be done. Yay!  Then I get to outline. I just hope I can get it done in the next week.  And that’s all!  My family’s driving me crazy.

Plot Twist

OMG! While talking with Crystal today, I jokingly stated a new solution to my plot woes. I wasn’t serious, just giving the various answers to a head-banging-against-the-wall question. Well blow me down! She jokingly said, “why not” and I started to wonder.

Why indeed not.

It’s not as exciting to discuss in this post without the details, but I can’t give my secrets away. Suffice to say, I have to rearrange a large portion of the plot, but Oh. My. God.

Then, of course, I spend most of my day tweaking blogs and dealing with home life. It’s cool today, and I should have spent the day writing like a fool. Oh well, nothing to bring back those hours now. I also started reading my mentee’s, Jewel Alexander, story. At least that is something productive. :)

I have approximately an hour, maybe an hour and a half, to get something done before I pass out. That’s the way it always is too. I get nothing done all day and then suddenly get a burst right before bed, which keeps me up much later than I should be, which in turn has me waking up much later than I should be…and on and on.

Ok, so I’m getting off now. Nite! ;)

New Temp Look

Have I mentioned I get bored easily? Sometimes it’s absolutely ridiculous. But, published writers advise that when you’re unpubbed, it is the time to experiment and find yourself. I have been doing that with my voice and my sub-genre, although I’ve always known my genre. Maybe finding my image is where my experimentation lies. Ah! That makes me feel not so flightly for having a new look every 3 months. I don’t even think I had the last one that long. This time, however, I didn’t waste precious writing time creating headers and web pages. Nope, I went with a premade template which fits pretty perfectly if I do say so myself. Back to my killer!

Brainstorming Isn’t Always Fun

I spent a nice chunk of yesterday and all of today trying to figure out why my killer kills, and how my heroine gets on the show.  Planning paranormal is SO much easier.  But I’ve muddled through, and I think I got it.  I’m finishing that part now, but wanted to pop on and give an update.

The Q&A at divas ends today, and I’m a bit sad. LOL I loved all the learning and chatting with these wonderful and giving authors.  I can not express how much fun I’ve had.

Well, I want to get back to the paper.  I’d love to have my killer mapped out before bed. :D
