Brief Outline Done
I finished it last night. The majority of it is VERY brief, with only titles for each scene documented. I didn’t have the time to even jot done a snippet of each scene, but that’s fine. Some of it may change anyway. While working on it last night, I realized I forgot to show any moments where the heroine’s life was in danger. Leaving them out wouldn’t have changed my plot, but I felt adding them would heighten the tension. I hope.
With that out of the way, I’ve been able to rewrite the only scene I already had written. I’m just about done (had a late start), and am content with them. I would say happy, but anytime I get “cocky” about my writing, I share it and am taken down a peg or two. LOL
Tomorrow Divas’ Mentor Program officially begins, as does my partnership with Crystal. Not like we’ve haven’t already been working together. So while nothing really changes, I need to make certain my 5 pages a day are completed.
Going over this first scene, I learned two things. I prefer this stage, the layering, over the writing and the editing. And, I REALLY prefer layering over writing and editing.
Also, my heroine sounds a bit loony, and I love it. My characters have always been so polite and in control of their emotions and thoughts. Yeah, they’d argue, slap, storm off, but only when justified. The good guys were never bitches just because they could be. And while Nerina is not a bitch, she is presently assuming she’s going crazy, and I’m having fun.
Catch ya later!
Edited to add: I just finished the layering of the first scene, changing the five page scene into seven pages. It felt good as it came out, but upon review, some of it may be cheesy. LOL
