I originally wanted to enter Samhain’s Tickle My Fantasy contest, but a couple of months ago, when I thought of a story idea, I couldn’t get the words to come.  Probably some self-conscious ploy to not succeed or some other psycho babble.  Then I put the notion aside because I was writing dark.  Then this weekend, I thought of it again and even tried on Saturday.  I wrote 3 pages.  Part of the problem is I don’t know what happens for the other 17,200 words.  I only have an idea, and I don’t know how to plot 18K.  Then there is the issue of deadlines.  Samhain’s deadline is May 31st, and the Stiletto deadline is June 15th.  I don’t know if I can get it all done on time.  Maybe I’ll try a different approach–taking this week to see how much of the novel I can get done (since I know where that plot is going) and then see if I have time to do the other.  But two weeks is really short for a short.
