What do you do when your characters aren’t talking?

Giada is sitting at her mom’s house, listening to her sister, Cat, go on and on about her recent shoe purchase.  it’s Giada’s birthday, she doesn’t want to be there, and she certainly doesn’t want to hear about shoes.  Mom is checking on dinner, and Giada just asked Cat about the reality show she’s getting ready to go on.

For some reason Cat isn’t speaking.  She opened her mouth and for two days nothing came out.  I’m going to stomp my foot and demand she start speaking or else.  Maybe I can threaten to erase her.  Or to make her old and ugly.  That would piss her off.  *cackles*
