I didn’t get any writing done today.  Instead, I edited the first 30 pages of my new book, which is now 34 pages.  While I was writing it, it felt dry, completely devoid of humor and thin–bare bones.  Going over it though allowed me to see a couple of things:

1. It’s not as horrible as I thought.  Ok, so it’s not horrible at all.  It didn’t lack as much as I thought.

2. This is my second attempt at chick lit, and while it may not scream of CL, in comparison to my first book, this heroine is simply different.  She’s cynical, doesn’t care and likes herself that way.  My last heroine wanted to be normal so badly that she hid who she really was.  Very different people.

3. and most importantly, I actually like this story and can’t wait to finish it.
