How do you crit the work of a friend when her writing is kick ass?
Her request was to be mean. I can do mean, but so far, only a few things have jumped out at me. If I return it with only a few suggestions, will she think I can’t do my job? Will she find another critter? :D That may be an extreme, but I really wanted the chance to be mean. :) I didn’t expect to be able to rip it to shreds, but one comment every three pages is better than one every 25.
And then what does this say about my writing? Are all writers almost flawless? I’m certainly now. What am I doing “wrong”? I can only hope I get to that point some day.
