General Hospital Sucked Today

Published by Jenn under Soap Opera, Tuesday

Then again, what day hasn’t it sucked on some level for the past decade or so?

I’ve been watching this show since I was in seventh grade and Annie Logan was an adult nurse who was also a virgin. Being only 11-12 and no way near sexually active, this was an awesome storyline to me. But what’s happened? The writers today not only don’t care about their older characters and core families, but they portray every woman as a screaming wench, the MOB runs the damn show (isn’t it supposed to be ‘love in the afternoon’?) and they ruin characters all in the name of story.

Today Lulu (whom is not a favorite) the saint, because you know she never slept with someone else’s guy, she didn’t murder a man and she isn’t keeping the Dante-is-a-cop a secret, called out Liz for sleeping with Nik (which, okay, she has every right to be upset) IN the middle of the hospital around a lot of people. She couldn’t have done it in private. This is about more than what Liz did; it involves her entire family. No class whatsoever!

And Carly has the audacity (or does that belong to Sam for saying she’d be fine with Jason taking his son?) to rant and rave about Liz’s choice of who she sleeps with and demand Jason take custody of Jake. Um, unless she was having sex in front of her kids, what does it matter? They’re all acting as if Liz can’t raise her kids as a single parent and she can ONLY do it with Lucky by her side. What’s up with that? Who writes this crap and why do they insist on dragging down Liz’s character? Or all the women.

They don’t write this way for the men. Oh and poor Lucky. (That’s sarcasm, BTW.) He’s a pansy-ass little girl, and bringing back Jonathan Jackson doesn’t change that. In fact it’s worse since Greg Vaughn was a lot hotter.

May the soap Gods save us from terrible writing and give us stories with strong, independent woman who find, struggle and lose love and KILL all the mob characters. Take the mob out of Port Charles.
